How studio pictures differ from real life
Studio photos use lighting, posing and angles to show a doll at its best. That is normal product photography, and it makes a listing picture the best case. Sanhui adds a second, more useful set: photos or video of your own doll, sent before it ships.
Light
Soft studio light flatters skin and makeup. Plain daylight shows both closer to how you will see them at home.
Angles
Camera height and lens change how tall and how slim a body looks in a picture. Sanhui measures height from head to heel and notes that, because every doll is handmade, some deviation from the listing is inevitable.
Posing
Sanhui’s pose page shows how far the Flexi Edition skeleton can go. One owner pointed out that the most extreme poses there are shown for effect and strain the silicone, so save them for the occasional shot.
Age of the photo
A catalog photo can be older than the current body. In 2023 Sanhui’s forum account said a homepage photo “was kind of an old one” and then named the model it showed, so ask for the body and head number of any picture you like.
Proportions are another gap between picture and doll. A 2024 study of 757 dolls listed for sale found body proportions that did not match those of the US population. Choose by the numbers instead: Sanhui’s listed sizes and weights run from 150 cm and 28 kg to 175 cm and 53 kg.
Sex doll factory photos: what to check
Factory photos are pictures of your own doll taken before it ships, and they are a strong reason to order a Sanhui. Sanhui’s FAQ says it takes photos or video and sends them before the doll goes out, so you can check its quality. In 2017 Sanhui said each order’s video includes a tag with the buyer’s name as proof of purchase, and that it had worked this way since 2016.
One owner noticed that factory shots are usually taken with the doll lying down, so the body can look different than it does standing. Judge the face, tone and options in the photos, and the figure once she stands at home.

Why it matters
Head
The head number and makeup you ordered
Heads look alike in thumbnails; the number is the proof. See Sanhui faces
Skin tone
The tone you picked from Sanhui’s four standard tones
Easier to fix before shipping than after

Eye color from 14 options; a wig, implanted synthetic hair or implanted human hair
Implanted hair costs $300–700 extra, so confirm it is there

Options such as articulated fingers, hard hands or hard feet
Sanhui notes a visible color difference on hard feet, so expect it
Skin surface
Tears, marks or uneven seams
Raising a problem before shipping is easier than within 48 hours of delivery

How to check where a doll picture came from
01
Save or copy the image
Download the listing photo or copy its address. Crop out any banner the store added.
02
Search with Google
Upload the file, drag it in or paste the link into Google’s image search. In Chrome, you can also choose “Search with Google Lens” on any picture.
03
Search with TinEye
Upload, drag, paste a link or use the browser extension, then sort the results by “Oldest” to see the earliest known copy.
04
Read the result
If the same photo appeared earlier on another website, the seller borrowed it, and it proves nothing about stock. “Earliest known” covers only what the service has indexed, so a clean result is one check among several; the others are in how to spot a legit store. With a Sanhui order, the factory photos of your own doll settle the question.
Sex doll photography: how to shoot your own doll
A Sanhui makes a patient model. The Flexi Edition skeleton holds a wide range of poses, Sanhui says most of its heads have eyes you can turn toward the lens, and a standard body takes interchangeable heads for a new look between sessions. The rules below come from Sanhui’s 2017 care manual and protect the silicone and the steel skeleton while you work; joints are covered in depth in the Sanhui skeleton guide.
01
Use window light, briefly
Soft daylight is flattering, but Sanhui warns that silicone “will slightly fade” in direct sun. Keep sessions by a sunny window short and store the doll between 5 and 35 °C (41–95 °F).
02
Pick a plain background
A plain wall or sheet keeps attention on the face. Sanhui advises keeping the doll off dyed fabric and leather.
03
Pose within the range
The Flexi Edition skeleton has movable shoulders, and articulated fingers are a $130 option for expressive hands. Reset the doll to a neutral position before a second pose, never bend a joint against its direction and stop when a joint resists.
04
Keep standing shots short
Stand the doll only briefly, on a flat, soft surface with the feet fully down, or lean it against a support. Hard feet, a $100 option, let the doll stand for a shot, though Sanhui says they are not built for long-term standing.
05
Dress with care
Dust the skin with powder before dressing, and skip sharp jewelry and tight clothes.
Sharing doll pictures online
Sanhui’s 2017 manual asked owners not to show their doll undressed in public places or online. Owner forums set their own rules: one large forum bans photos of any doll that may be perceived as under 18, whatever age it is sold as, and expects every doll to be presented as an adult. The legal side is covered in the guide to doll laws.
Photos belong to whoever took them. Sanhui marks its videos “All rights reserved”, and other owners’ pictures are theirs, so ask before reposting. For the doll you order, the factory photos Sanhui sends are the reference.
Sex doll pictures: FAQ
Are sex doll pictures in listings real?
Listing pictures show a doll at its best: studio lighting, posing and angles flatter any doll, and a catalog photo can be older than the current model. Use them to pick a style. For the doll you will receive, Sanhui sends photos or video of your own doll before it ships.
What are sex doll factory photos?
They are pictures and video of the doll you ordered, taken at the factory before it ships. Sanhui says it sends them so buyers can check quality, and in 2017 said each video includes a tag with the buyer’s name. Check the head, skin tone, eyes, hair and options against your order.
How do I find out if a doll picture is stolen?
Run it through a reverse image search. Google accepts an upload, a drag-and-drop or a link, and Chrome offers “Search with Google Lens”. TinEye can sort results by “Oldest”. If the photo appeared earlier on another website, the seller borrowed it, and it proves nothing about stock.
Why does my doll look different from the pictures?
Light, angle and pose change how a face and body read on camera, and one owner noticed that factory shots are usually taken lying down, which changes how the body looks. Compare your doll with its own factory photos before you decide something is wrong, and report a real fault to Sanhui within 48 hours of delivery.
Can I post pictures of my doll online?
On your own accounts, that is up to you and the platform’s rules. Sanhui’s 2017 manual asked owners not to show their doll undressed in public or online, and owner forums ban photos of dolls that could be perceived as under 18. Ask before you repost Sanhui’s or other owners’ photos.
